Hi,
My name Doug Platts and this is my personal blog detailing my training ups and downs as I raise money for the Amani Children’s Home for homeless children in Tanzania.
On this blog I’ll keep you up to date with how my fundraising goes with regular, hopefully, post about my training and the actual events.
So here’s a little bit about myself. I’m 25 and live in Brighton, UK. I’ve got settled here for a bit after finishing my degree at Sussex university. I work as a natural search analyst doing search engine optimisation at an online marketing company. I also work part time managing websites and doing general SEO for other companies. In between these jobs I train at kickboxing at the university and at a club in Brighton called Kicks.
So on top of all that I’ve decided to do some fundraising as well! Please help support me with any advice and tips for my training and also don’t for get you can make a donation to my charity at:

Thanks
Doug Platts

Doug,
I just got back from a Mt. Kilimanjaro climb (all four in our group were successful) and safari. We also visited the Amani Children’s Home while we were there. The kids at Amani were absolutely wonderful – as you’ll see in our slideshow. On our website: http://www.22q13climb.com we have posted slideshows of our climb, Amani visit and of the safari. Hopefully these help you prepare for your trip and climb. Feel free to email me with any questions.

Hey
Thanks for your comments Cern and Alaena – it’s great that there are so many people who are supporting the Amani Children’s Home.
I’m just working on more fundraising activities at the moment – alot of them seem to involve fancy dress!
Alaena will you be there in September? I plan to visit the home then with the rest of the guys I’m climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro with.
All the best,
Doug
